Indianapolis Navigator High School Student Ministry is a Christian ministry that reaches out to high school and at times middle school students. Volunteer leaders are recruited and trained to mentor and disciple others in the Christian faith. Our hope is to reach young people who need faith, help them walk in faith and then help them learn to help others.

Meet the Area Director

Cooper and Hannah have been on Navigator staff for over 3 years now. They have been working and volunteering with high school students since 2017. They are passionate about introducing high school students to Christ, helping them grow in their faith and teaching them to help others as well.

Message from our staff…

“We moved from Northern Kentucky to start high school ministry in the Indianapolis area. We’re incredibly excited to begin this work in Indianapolis. For the past 10 years, we’ve had the privilege of watching God work in and through the students in Northern Kentucky, and we believe He is calling us to bring that same desire for reaching students to Indianapolis.

There are tens of thousands of students across Indianapolis who need someone to pursue them, believe in them, and introduce them to the hope of Jesus. Our desire is to be present in their schools, build genuine relationships, and walk alongside students as they discover what it means to follow Jesus.

We’re not simply hoping to start programs but we’re praying that God would raise up real disciples of Jesus who will make disciples of others. We believe the students of Indianapolis can be a part of something far bigger than themselves, and we’re excited to see what God will do.

Please be praying as we step into this new chapter. We can’t wait to see what God does in Indy!

All for Christ,

Cooper and Hannah Scherr”

Who are The Navigators?

The Navigators® is an international, interdenominational Christian ministry established in 1933. Navigators are people who love Jesus Christ and desire to help others know and grow in Him as they “navigate” through life.

Our slogan, “To Know Christ, make Him known, and help others do the same®,” aptly describes what Navigators do. As we befriend those who don’t know Jesus or those just starting out in their relationship with Him, we show them how to grow and help others grow, too.

We help people “navigate” life by establishing Life-to-Life® mentoring—or discipling—relationships with them, equipping them to make an impact on those around them for God’s glory. These life-changing relationships are formed on college campuses, on military installations, in neighborhoods, churches, and even high-rise apartment buildings.

Our mission is based on the Bible, God’s Word. Desiring to fulfill 2 Timothy 2:2, Navigators seek to forward the grace and teachings of Christ from one believer to the next—what we call “generational multiplication.”

Today, the Navigator staff family—4,600 strong—includes 70 nationalities, 130 languages, and numerous heritages and life experiences. The Navigator family also includes those who work alongside and support our staff, whose hearts beat with the passion of our motto, “To know Christ, make Him known, and help others do the same.”
